"Imprints of Connection" a Land Art Performance & Installation by Emmanuel Massillon

Saturday 7th October, 6:00pm

UTA Artist Space, Historical Rail Park at Pullman Yards
Emmanuel Massillon will be conducting a temporary Land Art installation and performance during Atlanta Art Week that involves local dirt bikers from Atlanta, using the marks left by their tire tracks to etch an elaborate design on the selected land. This idea draws its inspiration from various aspects of African fractals, urban dirt bike culture, and the mystique surrounding UFO crop circles.

Emmanuel Massillon is a conceptual artist who works in several different mediums, including painting, photography, performance, and sculpture. His visuals have been inspired by many genres of African American music, such as jazz, R&B, and rap, which Massillon believes to be one of the main preserves of Black culture in America. The materials used in his work vary from bullet shells to dirt, wood, and other found objects that act as an expression of his perception of the world by using materials from his own environment and cultural history.

UTA Fine Arts announced its representation of Emmanuel in fall 2022, and this will be his first solo presentation with UTA Artist Space.
